What people say about Dr. Ballet

I love Perry Brown, AKA, "Dr. Ballet". He is amazing. He is one of the few that actually still teach in LA. Most just facilitate a class and collect money. Not Perry. His corrections are precise, down to your tendu being an 1/8" off. Seriously! Meeting him and attending his classes was the best thing I could have done for myself as a dancer and for my career as a ballet teacher. He changed my dancing completely and helped me see things from a different angle. When I talk about Perry Brown, he is my mentor! He is amazing! It does not matter what skill level you are, you will come away with something. I promise!

I highly recommend Ballet Bootcamp with Perry Brown, whether you're someone who hasn't danced in awhile, are a professional dancer, or just want to stay fit, this is the class! It is an open environment with a teacher who actually teaches technique and gives you the tools to figure out what the issues are; you will end up seeing improvement from week to week. This is the class to take to build your strength, core stability, and balance--- But its not all work and no fun, Perry always emphasizes the importance of dance as a form of creative expression, and as someone who used dislike ballet, I now can't live without it!

Perry Brown teaches ballet classes on Thursday evenings & Sunday mornings, and is, IMHO, a technical genius. If you want to get stronger quickly, and learn how to find your balance EVERY time, come and see Perry-- he'll fix you. =) His corrections are spot-on-- he sees the subtle things that need adjusting-- by all accounts, that's rare in an adult ballet class.

Perry's ballet classes are great for the intermediate dancer! I haven't taken other dance classes, so my review is primarily for the ballet classes.

The good:
You actually get corrections! What really separates Perry's class from the rest is the level of his corrections and attention to students. If you've taken adult or open ballet classes elsewhere, you know constructive corrections are rare. Perry has a keen eye for nuances of movement. He has helped me tremendously with finding my center and pirouettes! Perry actually cares about your development as a dancer and pushes you to develop proper technique so you don't ruin your body. I definitely keep coming back for Perry's insight and lessons.

Highly recommend Perry Brown's ballet class. He actually GIVES corrections that actually improve your dancing! That is super hard to find in adult ballet classes. He has great combinations and warm up at the bar that prepares you for center work. He is the best ballet class I've taken since I was a student. (I don't even bother spending my money at PDT or other ballet classes around LA unless they are his or he recommends them). So if you're an dancer who needs it for sanity/working out/brushing up on an old art/talent look no further!
